Understanding Your Workspace

Your workspace is the home base for everything you do in Grantable — where your organization’s people, projects, files, and AI context all come together.

What a Workspace Is

A workspace represents a single organization inside Grantable. It’s a secure, shared environment that contains:

  • Your team members and their roles

  • Your documents, files, and applications

  • Your AI context sources like the Organization Profile and Style Guide

  • Your billing plan and usage settings

💡 If you work with multiple organizations or clients, you can belong to more than one workspace — each with its own data, team, and permissions.

Why Workspaces Matter

Workspaces keep everything organized and separate. Each one:

  • Maintains its own data boundaries (no cross-org access)

  • Has its own AI context — unique files, rules, and profiles

  • Includes distinct billing and member management

💡 This makes Grantable safe for consultants, agencies, and multi-organization collaborators — you’ll never mix data between clients.

How Workspaces Are Structured

LayerWhat It ContainsExample

Organization Workspace

The root level for your team

“Community Health Alliance”

Records

Structured data objects like Funders, Opportunities, and Grants

“Ford Foundation – Capacity Grant”

Documents and Files

Writing, attachments, and reference materials

“LOI Draft.docx,” “Annual Report.pdf”

People

Members and their permissions

Admin, Full, Collaborator, Viewer

💡 Everything you create in Grantable — from a style rule to a draft — lives inside exactly one workspace.

Switching Between Workspaces

If you belong to multiple organizations:

  • Click your organization name in the sidebar to open the workspace switcher.

  • Select another organization to change workspaces.

💡 Switching workspaces changes everything you see — data, members, and AI context all update instantly.

Managing a Workspace

Admins can manage workspace settings under Settings → Organization:

  • Edit the organization’s profile or logo

  • Manage team roles

  • Update billing details

  • Configure AI behavior and limits

💡 Each workspace operates independently, so changes in one do not affect others.

Key takeaway: Your workspace is the foundation of Grantable — a secure, self-contained environment for your organization’s people, projects, files, and AI intelligence. Everything you create, share, or edit belongs to one workspace, keeping collaboration organized and data safe.
