New rule — create a new writing rule for the AI to follow

Table of Rules
Each rule appears as a row in the list with these columns:
Name — the rule title (e.g., Use active voice, Avoid jargon, Keep tone professional)
Description — the instruction that tells the AI how to write
Status toggle — turn individual rules on or off
Actions — a three dots menu (⋮) for editing or deleting rules

Actions
From the Actions column (three dots menu):
Edit — open the rule editor to modify the name or description
Delete — permanently remove the rule from your Style Guide
💡 Disabling a rule keeps it saved but inactive — the AI won’t follow it until toggled back on.
Creating or Editing a Rule
Click New rule
Enter a rule name (e.g., Keep responses under 250 words)
Add a description explaining what the AI should do
Click Save changes

💡 You can return at any time to edit or refine rules as your team’s writing standards evolve.
Controlling Style Guide Behavior
From the AI Settings Panel in the Document Editor, you can toggle Follow Style Guide on or off.
When toggled on, the AI will use every active rule from your Style Guide.
When toggled off, the AI will ignore all style rules.
To fine-tune, return to the Style Guide and toggle individual rules on or off as needed.

💡 Use the main toggle in the Document Editor to control the whole Style Guide, and the switches here to manage specific rules.
✅ Key takeaway: The Style Guide defines your organization’s writing voice. Turn the whole guide on or off from the AI Settings Panel, or toggle individual rules here to control how Grantable’s AI writes on your behalf.
