1. Where to upload files
You can add files in two main places:
Files Library (from the Home sidebar β Content β Files)
A central space to store and organize documents your team will use across projects.
Inside a Grant Project (when working on an application)
Attach files directly to a project so the AI can reference them when drafting responses.
π‘ Think of the Files Library as your archive, and project uploads as your working set.
2. File types supported
.docx β great for past proposals, RFPs, or templates
.pdf β budgets, annual reports, program brochures
.txt / .md β notes or plain text resources
Google Drive β connect your account in Settings β User and import directly

π‘ High-quality, text-based documents help the AI generate the most accurate drafts.
3. How to upload
From Files Library
Go to Files
Click Upload File
Drag-and-drop or select from your computer
(Optional) Tag or rename the file for easier searching later

From a Grant Project
Open your project and scroll to the chat area
Click the paperclip icon (bottom right) to upload from your computer

Or click the @ icon (bottom right of chat box) to search your existing Files and attach

4. Reviewing and managing files
Uploaded files appear as rows (showing file name and type)
You can preview, rename, or remove them anytime
In a project, all attached files stay visible above the chat box

π‘ Each file card is a building block in your projectβs knowledge base.
5. Best practices
Upload your recently completed grant applications, program reports, and supplemental information β theyβre used often across applications
Keep your Files Library tidy by using clear names, folders and tags
Update important files regularly so your AI Assistant always works with the latest information
β Key takeaway: Importing files is how you seed Grantable with authentic information about your organization. The more relevant, high-quality materials you upload, the smarter and more tailored your AI-assisted drafts will be.
