Layout

Top Bar

  • Search name… — find files quickly by title

  • Filter by type — narrow results by file type (File, Document, Sheet, or Folder)

  • Filter by tags — show only files with specific labels (e.g., Budget, Annual Report, Partner MOU)

  • + Upload file — add new files directly from your computer or connected storage

Table of Files

Each file appears as a row in the table with these columns:

  • Name — the file name (click to preview or download)

  • Type — identifies whether it’s a file, document, sheet, or folder

  • Tags — custom labels you’ve applied for organization and search

  • Updated at — the date and time the file was last uploaded or modified

  • Actions — a three dots menu (⋮) with file management options

Actions

From the Actions column (three dots menu):

  • Rename — change the file’s title for easier searchability

  • Add or edit tags — apply labels to group files by category or workflow

  • Download — save a local copy of the file

  • Delete — permanently remove the file from your organization

💡 Deleting a file removes it from all linked areas and cannot be undone.

File Types Supported

Grantable supports common text and reference formats:

  • .docx — past proposals, RFPs, or templates

  • .pdf — budgets, annual reports, or brochures

  • .txt / .md — plain text or notes

  • Google Drive — connect your account to import Drive files directly

💡 Text-rich files (like .docx or accessible PDFs) give the AI Assistant more material to work with when generating responses.

Navigation

  • Click any file name to preview or download it

  • Use drag and drop to move files or nest them inside folders

  • Use breadcrumbs at the top of the screen to return to the Files Library or your organization home

💡 Drag-and-drop makes it easy to organize related materials together — for example, grouping program files or supporting documents for a specific funder.

Key takeaway: The Files Library is your central hub for uploading and managing reference materials. Use tags, folders, and drag-and-drop organization to keep things structured so Grantable’s AI can easily access the right information when assisting with your writing.
