How to Export and Share Your Work

Download your drafts from Grantable so you can edit, finalize, and submit them outside the platform.

1. Open your document

  • From the sidebar, go to Grants or Documents

  • Select the project or document you want to export

2. Use the export menu in the writing space

You can export in two ways:

From inside a document

  • Open the document in editor or view mode

  • At the top of the screen, next to the breadcrumbs and filename, click the three dots menu (…)

  • Select Export → Download as .docx

From the Documents view

  • Go to Documents in the sidebar

  • Find the document in the table

  • In the Actions column, click the three dots menu (⋮)

  • Select Export → Download as .docx

💡 Both options create a Microsoft Word (.docx) file — the standard format most funders accept.

3. Share with others

  • Once downloaded, you can:

    • Edit further in Word or Google Docs

    • Email the file directly to collaborators

    • Upload into a grant portal for submission

💡 For quick team visibility inside Grantable, use Viewer roles instead of sending files back and forth.

Key takeaway: You can export from inside a document (top menu next to the filename) or from the Documents view table (Actions column). Both generate a .docx file ready for editing, sharing, and submission.
