Purpose
Google Drive integration allows you to import files seamlessly into your Files Library or attach them directly to a project or document. This saves time, maintains file integrity, and ensures the AI can access your most up-to-date materials.
💡 Think of this as a secure bridge — your files stay in Google Drive, but Grantable can read them when needed for drafting and analysis.
Before You Begin
You must have a Google account with access to the Drive files you want to import.
Admin or Full users can connect Google Drive.
Make sure pop-ups are allowed in your browser — Drive authorization opens in a separate window.
💡 If you’re part of multiple workspaces, connect Google Drive separately in each one.
How to Connect Google Drive
In Grantable, go to Settings → User.
Under Connected Accounts, click Connect Google Drive.
When prompted, sign in to your Google account and approve the connection.
Once connected, you’ll see Drive connected displayed in your settings.

💡 Grantable requests read-only access to your selected files — it never modifies or deletes content in your Google Drive.
Importing Files from Google Drive
After you’ve connected your account, you can import Drive files in two ways:
From the Files Library
Go to your Files Library from your home screen.
Click + New.
Choose Import from Google Drive.
Select the file(s) you want to add.

💡 Imported Drive files will appear alongside your other uploaded materials — with the type labeled as “Google Drive.”
From a Project or Document
Open a grant project or document.
In the chat box, click the @ icon or paperclip icon.
Choose Import from Google Drive from the menu.
Select your file and attach it to the project.
💡 The AI can now reference this Drive file as context while drafting or answering prompts.
Managing and Disconnecting Drive Access
To manage your connection:
Go to Settings → User → Integrations.
Click Disconnect Google Drive if you wish to remove access.
💡 Disconnecting will not delete any previously imported files — it simply removes the authorization for new imports.
Troubleshooting
If you can’t connect or import files:
Make sure you’re signed into the correct Google account.
Check browser pop-up permissions.
If the import window freezes, reload Grantable and try again.
Ensure your file type is supported (.docx, .pdf, .txt, etc.).
💡 If problems persist, contact [email protected] with a brief description of what happened — the team can verify whether the issue is account-specific or browser-related.
✅ Key takeaway: Connecting Google Drive lets you securely import files into Grantable for use in drafting, research, and collaboration. Set it up once, and you can instantly access and attach your most relevant materials without leaving your workspace.
