It is increasingly common for grantors to use grant portals to receive submissions. Follow these steps to bring application questions into Grantable when grantors do not provide downloadable documents.

Navigate to the application portal or website

Create an account in the grantor's application portal and navigate to the application questions.

Tip: Look for or inquire about an option to download the application. If you are able to download the entire application, follow these instructions to upload it to Grantable.

Step 1: Add Grant Application

From the home screen, navigate to the Application section using the left menu.

Click the green New Application button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Select the Paste Text option.

Make sure to have the content from the grant application portal or website handy for this next step.

Give the grant application a title and copy and paste all the application text into the text area.

Tip: This is identical to the process most people use when importing grant portal text into Microsoft Word or Google Docs to work on in those word processors.

Click Add Text to proceed.

You should now see your pasted grant application with the title you gave it.

Tip: If you forget to add some application content, don't worry, you can repeat this process, or paste it to the page later.

Click Continue to Step 2 to proceed.

Step 2: Add Source Material

Selecting high quality source material is critically important to ensure your AI assistant drafts accurate and authentic content for your grant application.

You have two options for associating source material with this application.

  1. You can search through the existing source material in your account using the search bar.

  2. You can upload documents in .docx or .pdf format using the upload feature.

Selected files will appear and can be removed if necessary by clicking the X on each item.

Once you have finished associating source materials to this application, click Start Writing to proceed to your workspace.
