Some questions are simple enough that your AI assistant can get it all or mostly right in one go. That's why we've created the one-shot feature to save you even more time. Check it out.

Choose the right content palette

One of the biggest factors in determining whether or not one-shot AI responses are successful is the quality of the content palette the AI is drawing source material from. The more curated the content in the palette, and the more aligned the palette is with the task, the better the outcome will be.

Example

Let's say you want the one-shot to draft a response to a question requesting an organization overview. In this case, you would want to make sure that you had a content palette selected that contains the kind of information you'd want to include in an overview.

You might consider selecting several answers to similar questions from recently completed grant proposals, or a file containing general information that introduces your organization and its work.

Activate a one-shot response

Once you're confident you've created the right content palette for the job, highlight the section of the document you wish to have the AI assistant respond to.

A bubble menu will appear above the highlight.

Click the Respond to prompt option for the answer to stream.

Keyboard shortcut

Alternatively, you can also produce the same result by using the keyboard shortcut:

Control + Shift + J (PC)

Command + Shift + J (Mac)

Tip: A good way to think about this feature is like cruise control in a car. It can certainly save you energy, and it's best to use this feature during relatively simple, time-consuming parts of your work.
