Once you've set up your Grantable account, one of the first things you may want to do is understand your user capabilities and invite other users to help manage applications, collaborate on grants, and organize your workspace. Understanding the different types of users in Grantable will help you assign the right roles and permissions from the start.
The main user types in Grantable are Owner, Admin, Member, Collaborator, and Viewer.
Account Owner / Admin
An Admin is a user with full access across your organization's Grantable workspace. Admins can manage applications, invite and remove users, and adjust settings. Admins occupy full user seats within your plan.
An Account Owner has all Admin capabilities, plus exclusive access to billing and subscription management. Every account must have one, and only one, Account Owner. Like Admins, Owners occupy full user seats.
Best use cases: Ideal for executive directors, operations managers, or anyone responsible for high-level oversight of your grant applications and organizational setup.
Member
A Member is a user with full access to create, edit, and manage on applications. Members can see all content in your workspace. They occupy full user seats on your active plan.
Best use cases: Best for full-time grant writers, program managers, or team members who need complete access to your organization's grant materials.
Collaborator
A Collaborator is a user with permission to upload content, manually edit, and comment on applications, but only for specific projects they've been given access to.
Note: Collaborators cannot create new grant projects and do not have access to Grantable generative AI features.
Collaborators occupy reduced-price Collaborator seats, making them a cost-effective option for part-time or project-based team members.
Best use cases: Perfect for contract grant writers, consultants, or part-time team members who only need access to lightly review or edit specific projects.
Viewer
A Viewer is a user with read-only access. They can review comments and documents shared with them but cannot create, edit or post anything.
Viewers do not occupy paid user seats, making it easy to involve stakeholders without affecting your plan limits.
Best use cases: Great for board members, leadership staff, or external partners who need to review but not edit application materials.
Notes About User Access
Guest Viewers: Grantable allows you to invite limited Guest Viewers who can access specific projects at no cost. (Available only on paid plans.)
Changing Roles: You can promote or demote users between roles anytime from your Admin Settings.
Plan Limits: Each subscription is priced by tier and per-seat and type, with flexible options for different size organizations.
